Locating your EFI chip;

What you'll need before you get started;

Let's find your logic board model first, then download it's boardview (.brd) -

Identifying your MacBook's logic board;

This should be the simplest step! Just go onto logi.wiki's Board Number by a Number and look for your respective MacBook logic board!

I'll be using my early 2015 MacBook Pro model for this, which coressponds to A1502 820-2924.

Once you found your logic board model, look up on Google- "AXXX 820-XXXX macbook boardview", replacing the blanks with your respective MacBook values.

Now, scroll through Google till you find a download link for a .brd view for your MacBook, watch out for sketchy websites though.

Do not pay for any boardviews, theres always a free one just laying around on Google.

Websites i've personally used while looking up boardviews;

When you've aquired a .brd file representing your MacBook, open it up in OpenBoardView.

You should see a wireframe sort of view of your MacBook's logic board! You can click the mouse wheel to switch to the other side.

Press Ctrl+F and type in U6100 in the Item #1 text box, then click Enter-

(if nothing comes up, try J6100)

Your screen should be brought to a four pin EFI chip, looking similar to the chip shown below

Now, take note of the surroundings around it, and then look around on your logic board in real life for the EFI chip.

It could be under or on top of the board, left or right side, or what not.

Once you found it, you can now start looking at your repsective generation guide on the main page!
